Atera is a German manufacturer specializing in high-quality transport systems, including roof racks, bike carriers, and roof boxes. Founded in 1963 in Ravensburg by Eberhard Tittel, the name "Atera" stands for "Autoteile Ravensburg," reflecting its origin as an auto parts wholesaler.

Our History

In 1972, Atera became one of the pioneers in the German market producing roof rack systems. Over the years, the company expanded its product range to include bike carriers, roof boxes, and other transport solutions. Since 1980, Atera has collaborated with renowned car manufacturers such as Opel, Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, supplying high-quality carrier systems.

Atera is dedicated to safety, quality, durability, and user-friendliness. The company voluntarily undergoes annual audits by independent institutions like TÜV to ensure compliance with international standards. Products are developed in Germany according to DIN ISO TS 16949, manufactured following DIN ISO 75302 and DIN ISO 75303, and all plastic components are fully recyclable according to EC Directive DIN ISO 1135. Production complies with German environmental regulations and is continuously monitored under DIN EN ISO 14001 standards.
